A quick, one-pan, low-carb dinner with savory smoked turkey sausage and tender cabbage, ready in under 30 minutes.

1 (13oz) package of smoked turkey sausage, sliced
1 small head of cabbage, cored and chopped
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter or ghee
1 tbsp chopped garlic
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/4 tsp onion powder
Black pepper to taste
Salt to taste (use sparingly)

Instructions

  1. Brown Sausage: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced sausage and cook for 4-5 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. Sauté Garlic: Add butter to the same pan. Once melted, sauté the garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Cook Cabbage: Add the chopped cabbage, smoked paprika, onion powder, and black pepper. Toss to coat. Cook for 5-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender to your liking.
  4. Combine: Return the browned sausage to the pan. Stir and heat for 1-2 more minutes. Taste and add salt only if needed. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use a high-quality turkey, chicken, or halal beef sausage for best results.
  • Taste before adding extra salt, as the sausage is often already salty.
  • Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat beautifully.
